I had such a great weekend. It's funny how you can plan an evening or day of fun and have it fall completely flat and then from out of nowhere a nothing sort of day turns into just what you needed.
Scott and I drove up to Lake Stevens (our old hometown) to let our kids spend some time with their lifelong companions. After we dropped them off we evaluated our options and quite frankly we were too pooped to do any of the fun things we listed to each other.
I don't know who said it first, "You want to go back to mom's house and hang out?" (Scott's mom and dad were out of town and had let us crash over night at their house). This sounded good. So back to the house we went. I crashed on the bed with an awesome book that Cam and I are both reading (The New Moon by Stephanie Meyer). Scott found his way to the couch with re-runs of The West Wing.
There is nothing like relaxing in someone else's house. There is nothing to get up and get accomplished. No laundry, no cleaning, no nothing. No thoughts telling me to get something important done.
The wind was rustleing the tree outside the bedroom window and I could hear the cheers from a football game down the street. I turned up the electric blanket and snuggled down for a few more hours of mystery and adventure!
