Scott had the idea, a while back, that I should surprise the kids at Marissa’s bus stop with hot chocolate one morning. Sounded like a good idea to me and once I mentioned it to Marissa I was reminded thoroughly until I finally acted. We decided Monday would be the best day for it, especially because that seems to be a drag of a day for almost everyone. So this last Monday, with Marissa’s help, I loaded a tray full of cocoa goodies and a carafe of hot water and off to the bus stop we trudged.
Andrew, our 2nd grade neighbor was the first to greet us. It wasn’t a greeting of many words, simply a smile that went from ear to ear! I expected the novelty of the cocoa to wear off within a couple of minutes but every time I glanced over at Andrew, he looked like I would, if I’d just won the lottery.
The kids chattered and giggled as they gulped down the brown liquid being sure to leave a residue around their lips to leave proof of the morning delight. Honestly, though, I’m really not sure who was more joyful, me or them. Can it really be possible that I can achieve true happiness by simply delivering hot chocolate to a small group of school kids on a Monday morning? If so, when can I do it again!

When can you come to the office on a Monday and bring some brown liquid with you?
Great idea…you are good!
